Venkatapathi is B.Tech ( Textiles ), Gold Medalist from SKSJTI, Bangalore University and MBA (Finance) from DAV, Indore.
He has more than 34 years of experience in the Textile Industry. His recent assignments have been as head of mega projects like Birla Century, Bharuch, GHCL Textile division, Vapi, Welspun Sheeting at Anjar, Kutch, business Head of NSL textiles, Hyderabad and CEO of Woven division at Sinha Textile Group, Bangladesh.
He worked as Head of New Shorrock Mills, Nadiad, a flagship company of Arvind Mafatlal group. His Industry experience include technology absorption, reviving the production, scaling up operations, team building, setting up systems, operational issues, HR and IR issues apart from costing and financials. He was instrumental in quick results achieved in the new projects.
Venkatapathi, before entering the Industry, worked for ATIRA and NITRA. He visited more than 100 textile units all over India during this period and guided them in technical and other issues.
He underwent training in Japan on air jet spinning and systems. He went to Harvard University, Boston, for training on streamlining production in processing under late Prof.Jaykumar.
He was involved in Juran on quality improvement, ISO quality system, OKOTEX, Social security audits, Organic cotton and six sigma technique during his long tenure in the Industry. He has published several technical papers and chaired technical sessions in seminars and conferences. He has travelled abroad several times for ITME and other assignments.
His areas of interest are technology adoption, project management, operations, scaling up capacities, team building, training, setting up production monitoring systems, costing, Quality systems and techno economic studies of composite textile units.
